This book was so poorly written I seriously wonder if Gwen Hunter wrote it herself. The first two books in the series, while grim and disturbing, were superbly written. Law of the Wild was simplistic, unsophistocated, highly unbelievable and just plain bad.Recommend readers stop reading this series after the second book, which has a satisfying ending. Why the author felt the need to add Law of the Wild is puzzling, as it adds nothing to the narrative. Read the first two, don't bother with the third.

I'm a big fan of Faith Hunter books and tried her other stories. i still prefer her urban fantasy books but these were good.
The way Gwen Hunter can build the background and convincing characters that are too dark/fantastic to be real is amazing.
I enjoyed this and the previous two DeLande saga's,but... with Law Of The Wild I found the DeLande Family had become somewhat unbelievable. If, as in the book, there had been generations of close inbreeding I would think the end progeny would be little better than feral imbeciles. In this, the third of the Saga The Family has become almost super human, able to read each others minds, heal wounds with touch, and see into the future. This makes it dissapointingly unreal.
This author writes such interesting stories of the Lousiana bayou country . It is apparent that she has personal knowledge of this part of our country. Great read.
The series is good, I like Gwen Hunter, but it is very dark. It is difficult to read sometimes and appears to have a darkness without purpose. Yes the DeLande's are twisted, but there is no rhyme or reason for their depravity and depravity without purpose seems useless.
waiting to see if there will be another book. When Mara returns with Miles to the estate, and see how the book progresses from there. His wicked sister Angelique adjusts to Miles and Mara being married. Will Lucien and Cady return with Miles to the estate or stay with Momo in the Badlands. So many possibilities for another book to continue. Exciting series, I am from South Louisiana and enjoy reading almost any series from there.
