George Allen Peterson Sr. wants power and excitement. Driven by his psychopathy, he plans and executes horrific acts of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse against his five children. Gripping and horrific, not for the faint of heart.

The Undoing The uncertain nights of the Peterson children eBook Gloria Watson

Its one of those books I didnt think I would get into but it was pretty good.Alot of detail some graphic which makes it hard to read at most times and also wants me to jump into the book and take those men to an abandoned warehouse but you sitting here, writing this book( which I doubt you read this) but I have to say that I applaud your strength to get through all of this.. you and your family and all the men that hurt you.. I hope they ALL got what they deserved. You and your family.. with the exception of a couple should get all that life has to offer for being here still and having the lives I hope you have I hope that will make your life better. This book was well written, it wasn't rushed.. and for this kind of book it is good(just for the person getting abuse) to have a little of that, like describing things in too much detail that don't have to do with the story to get a book out of it. Your childhood was so disgraceful you didn't need to do that because there was plenty to tell of yours and your siblings abuse.. So with this being true and with everything the author went through I am not going to say this was a great story cause it wouldn't feel right but it was a good read and I look forward to reading this author again,,, maybe a little non fiction...

The Undoing The uncertain nights of the Peterson children eBook Gloria Watson Reviews

This book is so good. I could not stop reading it. It made me cry and get angry in places. At the end I was wishing there was more.
So sad to read how these special babies were treated but heart warming how there are amazing people out there that can change these special kids outlook on life and love.
I struggled throughout reading this book, wondering how much, if any, of it was true. Could a mother truly be that blind and dumb to what was happening in her own household. Why was she always taking night jobs and leaving the kids at home? It was almost as if she didn't want to be home at night to escape her husband and just left the kids to deal with his brutality. Also, why did she continue to place the girls in harm's way by allowing their dad visitation, or the time she left the youngest girl home with Dick after he got out of reform school. She already knew what he'd done to Gloria. The whole story just doesn't add up for me. And don't even get me started on the ending. You invest all that time into reading a book, only to have it end like that? Where's the rest of the book? Did someone forget the last few closing chapters? I was highly disappointed with both the ending and the believability of the story. I hope it's not true, because it's horrific. If it is true, why is the father continually allowed to remain free, walking the streets and living his life? Where's the legality in any of this. I also think their mother should have gotten her head out of the clouds and stood up for her kids more, instead of burying her head in the sand when things didn't add up. Bud never contributed financially to the household, so what lose would she have been taking by leaving him. Just one less mouth to feed and her children would have been safer. All-in-all, I'm left with more questions than answers after reading this book. Unless there's a Part 2, the whole ending was just pointless.
Although this book ends with the author being only twelve years old, one can only hope and pray that her life got better. And the lives of her siblings and mother. Their lives were that of most nightmares. Far Worse , as it really happened. Not for the faint hearted. It will break your heart to pieces to hear these children's experiences.
The many reviews will give you an accurate idea of the book. In summary
1. You will not want to put it down until you are finished.
2. You will want to travel back in time to rescue the children.
3. You will learn that monsters walk among us.
4. You will be glad you paid no attention to the few people complaining about the ending as you will realize the story the author wanted to tell was complete.
So many times, in this book, I came to tears and gasped!! I can't believe all the torture these poor kids went through time and time again! I found myself getting mad too, wishing I could have just 5 minutes alone with them. You have to read this book, it's one I personally will never forget.
Is it possible that something so horrible could have happened to these children? How did these monsters get away with it for so long? Where were the adults who should have protected them. Now these children will be emotionally and physically scared for the rest of their lives. Lucky for them their brother George said "enough" and told their mother they were not safe with their father. He paid a hell of a price to protect them.
